This Privacy Policy explains how Ikusasa Analytics (Pty) Ltd ("Ikusasa Analytics", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects personal information gathered through ikusasaanalytics.co.za (this "Website"), in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA"). It applies to visitors, prospective clients and anyone who submits information to us through the Website, and is separate from our Terms of Service, which governs paid client engagements.
When you browse this Website or submit the contact form, you may share personal information with us. In relation to that information, Ikusasa Analytics acts as the Responsible Party under POPIA — we determine why and how it is processed. This is distinct from our role as an Operator when we process data on behalf of a paying Client under a signed engagement, which is covered separately in Section 08 of our Terms of Service.
Ikusasa Analytics (Pty) Ltd is a South African digital services and technology firm based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, delivering cloud engineering, data engineering, AI automation, cybersecurity and full-stack software development. For any privacy-related query, our details are in the Contact & Complaints section below.
We collect only what is necessary to respond to enquiries and operate the Website:
We do not knowingly collect payment card details, ID numbers, or special personal information (as defined under POPIA) through the Website.
Personal information is collected directly from you when you complete the contact form or Discovery Session request on this Website, or when you email us. Technical data is collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure as a normal part of serving web pages.
We do not use information collected through the Website for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
We process your personal information on the basis that: you have consented by voluntarily submitting the contact form; processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a service engagement; or processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Website, provided this does not override your own rights and interests.
This Website does not currently run third-party analytics, advertising or tracking-pixel scripts. Our hosting environment and content delivery services (including the Google Fonts we use for typography) may set strictly necessary or functional cookies, or process your IP address briefly, purely to serve the page correctly. If we introduce analytics, marketing cookies, or similar tracking in future, this Policy will be updated in advance and, where required by law, a cookie consent notice will be added to the Website.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with trusted, secure third-party service providers who assist us in operating this Website and conducting our business, strictly on our instructions and for the purposes described in this Policy. These include our infrastructure and hosting providers, automated contact-form processing services, and email service providers. All such providers are required to maintain strict confidentiality and to apply security measures aligned with POPIA.
Where we recommend third-party platforms as affiliate or referral partners (such as Papaya Global, Plesk or Evolve), and you choose to sign up with one of them directly, your information is then handled under that provider's own privacy policy — not this one. We only pass your details to a partner directly if you explicitly ask us to make an introduction.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law, to comply with a valid legal process, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of our clients or the public.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a small business handling contact-level data, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS) between your browser, this Website, and the systems that process and deliver your enquiry to us, and restricted access to our inbox and hosting environment. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we monitor and maintain our infrastructure to reduce risk on an ongoing basis.
We retain contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, pursue a resulting engagement, and meet any applicable legal, accounting or tax record-keeping requirements — typically no longer than five years from your last contact with us, unless a longer period is required by law or an active client relationship continues. Standard server logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes, then routinely cleared.
Some of our service providers may process or store data on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we rely on providers that maintain appropriate contractual and security safeguards for the information they process on our behalf, consistent with POPIA's requirements for cross-border transfer.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with POPIA's requirements.
This Website is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
This Website contains links to third-party websites and platforms, including our affiliate and referral partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Website, or legal requirements. The version published on this page applies from its effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically; material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
Questions, requests, or complaints about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your personal information can be directed to our designated Information Officer at info@ikusasaanalytics.co.za, or via our contact page. If you remain unsatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za, or directly via POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
